Introduction

The department of chemistry was up-graded into the institute of chemistry vide resolution No.07 of 13th meeting of academic council held on 11th June-2015, with the goal to provide quality education to the students and maintain the national and international standards. The institute of chemistry is playing a very important role in the development of Chemistry committd to excellence in academia as well as in reserach. The Faculty members are highly qualified and are committed to excellence in academia as well as in reacearch. Teh perforrmance of students is also outstanding and secured goood positions in public and private sectors within country and abroad. The institute aims at producing professionals with strong background of theoretical and pracitical chemistyr at graduate and post graduate level. It strives to produce graduates who can contirbue and upgrade existing technological activities in the country and whom professional brillianc is inseparable from commitment to the national goals.

Besides Organic, In Organic and Physical Chemistry, the institute has started fourth discipline3 of Analytical Chemistry since Academic Session 2014. Alongwith jobs in Government and Semi Goverment organizations, the Ceghnmistry has very wide spectrum of fieldss for graduates like, all kind of Chemical, Pharamaceutical, Texitile, Fertilizer, Oil and Gas, Power Sector, Food, Cement , Sugar, Oil and Ghee, Paints and Dyes, Paper, Plastic industry and Quality Asurance Jobs etc.

There are more than 80 students registered in MS/M.Phil and 07 students in PhD program. Many of them have cmpleted their research work and have been awarded derrees and rests of them are engaged in research.. Thirty students of MS/M.Phil and 03 students of Ph.D are pursuing their course work and iwill start their reserach withing few months.

INTRODUCTION

The Department of geography offers the Bachelor & Master's level courses in the discipline of Geography. The discipline has been opened to meet the long standing demands of the people of upper Sindh. The classes of BS (4 year) Program started from the academic year 2005-6 and M.A/M.Sc from the year 2010.The subject of Geography provides wealth of information and advanced knoweledge of the Earth's surface. It is meant to open further frontiers of knowledge for the sutdents and gto give an understanding and the preparation which may help them proceed further to acquire hte present day knowldege of the concepts of Geographical Science.

Teh discipline of Geopgraphy deals with physical geopgraphy, climatology, hydrography, study of land forms; biogepgraphy, the geography of soils plants, animals and human geopgraphy, the geography of the conomic, political and social activities of man in organized communities Historically geography is concerned primarily with human goepgraphy of the past because so many of the present spatial patterns owe much to earlierons, reote sensing & GIS (Geographic in information system) ae new market oriented disciplines in geography Various fields of Geopgrapy are proposed to be taught in the Syllabus of achelor of Studies BS (4 year) Program and M.A/M.Sc (2 Year Program).
